These are some pictures of abandoned farmhouses I shot during two trips this summer. The first was on a fishing trip to Diefenbaker back in August. On the way there I stopped at various sites and took photos of some abandoned structures, while my fishing buddy patiently waited.
The second trip was on October 9th 2010. We had some beautiful weather for a Saskatchewan autumn, and I thought a nice drive in the country would clear my head. I only took pictures of old houses that were near the roads and were not fenced off. I saw a couple nice ones in the middle of fields, but as farmers were combining I did not wish to bother them or try to track someone down to ask permission.
All of these were taken just east of Glenside Sk, a small town on the way to Diefenbaker Lake. If there are this many in this tiny pocket, how many more must there be in the entire province? I hope to someday photograph abandoned farmhouses in each area of the province.
There are also some also pictures of an old church, some houses in Glenside, and some other miscellaneous pictures.
If you know of any good sites for photographing abandoned farmhouses in the province, or around Saskatoon, drop me a line.
